1. What documents are required for a domestic flight?

   For Mexican: boarding pass and an official identification and for foreign citizens, boarding pass and passport.

2. How much time should I show up at the Cancun International Airport before departure time for my flight?

   3 hours prior for international flights and two hours for domestic flights.

3. What is hand baggage?

   Bags and purses are small in size and weight need not be documented. You can carry this baggage, hand luggage can be stored in the compartments of the aircraft.

4. Do I need a visa to go to Cancun?

   The Government of Mexico requires that all travelers to present a valid passport to enter Mexico. Driver's licenses, voter registration cards, affidavits and similar documents are not accepted.
   In Mexico VISA policy allows citizens of these countries to travel to Mexico without a visa: Andorra, Argentina. Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Cyprus, South Korea, Costa Rica, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, USA, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, United Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, Venezuela.

5. Can travel unaccompanied minors?

   Minors traveling alone require written notarized authorization from their parents

6. Is there an airport departure tax?

   Yes. When you leave Mexico there is a Departure Tax "of approximately $ 18.00 USD per person but is normally included in your airline ticket and need not pay it again. If you are unsure, please be sure to contact your airline before leaving for Cancun ask if the departure tax is already included. Children under 2 years old are exempt.

7. Do I need special vaccinations to enter Mexico?

   For visitors coming directly from the United States or Canada, does not require any certification of vaccination. If you are traveling from a country that is possibly infected with yellow fever vaccination certificate is required when applying for a visa at the Mexican consulate ask if you need the license.

8. I can enter fruit or meat to Mexico?

   Mexico should not bring fruit, meat, chicken, ham or cooked dishes, guns and drugs. After passing the customs have to stop for baggage check. If you are carrying illegal items, they will be confiscated by the government. If you are carrying weapons or drugs, you can be jailed.

9. How far is the international airport in Cancun's hotel zone and downtown Cancun?

   Cancun International Airport is located 7.5 miles (12km) from downtown Cancun and 12.5 miles (20 kilometers) southwest of the center of the hotel zone.

10. What transportation services are offered at the Cancun International Airport?

    They are available for transfer to your hotel the "shared vans." Private taxis are also available but are more expensive than vans.

11. Can you take a taxi outside the airport?

    No, the taxis outside the authorized transportation companies are not allowed to pick up passengers at the airport.

12. Are the same Cancun and Riviera Maya?

    No, Cancun is a resort that has its own hotels and attractions while the Riviera Maya is a destination located south of Cancun, which makes it the starting point for many of the most important archeological sites of Mayan culture also ecological parks like Xcaret.

13. Are there ATMs at the airport?

    Yes, there are ATMs and bureaux de change at the airport.

14. Will there be lockers at the airport?

    Yes, there are lockers service for small packages

15. The airport offers facilities for disabled people?

    There are ramps and bathrooms, among other services. Wheelchairs are available upon request (with your airline or travel agency)

16. How many terminals are in the airport?

    There are three terminals. Terminal 1 is used by charter flights from North America, including the local charter companies. Terminal 2 is used by some international airlines, as well as all domestic airlines and the new Terminal 3 is responsible for most of the international operations of airlines in North America and Europe.

17. How I can go from one terminal to another?

    A free shuttle service between terminals. Just ask any representative of the airport by the bus stop.

18. Can I leave my car in airport parking for a few days?

    The parking fee is $ 165.00 pesos per day, regardless of the number of days. From 6 hours fee is passed to 1 day.
